There was a derailment of a train inside the tunnel going into the Union Station (DC) 7/11/23.This mishap was very costly to me because my trip to DC was scheduled as a turn around (7-hours later). Due to the derailment, my trip back had to be rescheduled. Causing us to find lodging, a complete set of changing clothing for two individuals and the purchase of additional meals, not alloted for. Not to mention completely missing the events that had been scheduled for the trip, as well as missing a costly day from work. The rescheduled trip was for the following morning (7/12/23).However, there was a 1hour and 27 minutes delay, which was another missed scheduled appointment that was made six months out and now it has to be made another six months out, if there are no cancelations. This trip has me rethinking my choice of travel.
